Little Chef Program
Cooking with kids helps get them interested in trying healthy foods. It gives us a chance to introduce them to a range of fresh, healthy foods, as well as open up a host of new opportunities for learning.
Reading and vocabulary are introduced with new words such as peel, mix, and squeeze. Mathematical concepts such as time, measuring, and fractions are introduced through things like one quarter, one half, and one teaspoon, tablespoon, and cups. Patience and safety, as well as appreciation for food, are learned by doing things step by step.
Choosing foods together and involving children with healthy seasonal cooking and eating from an early age, will set a foundation for lifelong healthy eating habits.
